Teacher Component

Lesson Plan Title

In this space, discuss the TEACHER'S COMPONENT of your lesson plan. Use a number of pages if you like, in an organization that makes sense for your particular project. Remember to imbed hyperlinks to images, simulations, tools, and data used, with which teachers will need to familiarize themselves.

Every lesson should include:

  • Key concepts
  • Learning objectives
  • Procedure and/or day-by-day schedule of activity
    • Teacher
    • Students
  • Vocabulary (also accessible from student pages)
  • One or more Internet tasks:
    • Links to data sources
    • Reference sources
    • Searches and surveys
    • Ways to share data and results with others
    • Consulting an expert

You may also want to include:

  • Sources for background
  • Class management strategies: group size and organization
  • Worksheets
  • Handouts
  • Homework assignments
  • Tools for assessment
  • Lesson extensions and "Where-to-go-next"
