PRE/POST TESTS

A (4 page) pre/post test is available for teachers to download and use or modify. The questions cover information presented in written, diagram, and multiple choice format. PRETEST and POST TEST with ANSWER KEY

CLASSROOM STRATEGIES

• Accurate student responses on the Dawn of Sun Science and  Sunspots Researcher Qualifications handout, for example, will indicate student understanding of the lesson's main points.
   
• Students can submit research proposals for review by a panel of peers/educators using the Solar Research Proposal worksheet.
  
• Students can submit their Data Logs and correlation plots of Sunspot vs. X-ray Area, Sunspot Area vs. Time and X-ray Active Area vs. Time, or summarize and present their research results from the ACTIVITY section as a paper to the class.
  
• Students can assess their peers on research presentations and create quizzes or crossword puzzles on their jigsaw presentation material and the lesson vocabulary.
