  • Follow instructions from computers down on earth.
  • Work in the extremely cold temperatures in space.
  • Last for many years.

  • LANDSAT orbits the earth at about 570 miles out in space. This is roughly equal to the distance from San Francisco to San Diego, Boston to Pittsburgh, or Houston to Memphis.
