The Light Tour
Suggested Grade Level: 6-12
Objectives:
• Lesson: Students will explore the electromagnetic spectrum and different wavelengths
of light.
• Thematic: Energy, Patterns of Change, Scale and Structure, Systems and Interactions.
• Content: What are the sources of light? What is light?
• Process: Observing, Communicating, Comparing, Ordering, Categorizing, Relating,
Inferring, Applying.
Description of Activity: This is a set of activities that was developed before the
histogram activities and later added to this unit. The light tour explores the electromagnetic
spectrum and how it represents different wavelengths of light. A further explanation
