Teacher Workshops

Teachers taking part in a Professional Development workshopThroughout the year the THEMIS Education and Public Outreach team is involved in conducting teacher workshops across the country. We conduct short one-hour workshops on THEMIS science and classroom materials that we have developed. We also conduct longer half-day or full-day workshops where the focus may be on more broad topics in Space Science and include other NASA educational materials.

These workshops may be found at conferences of the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) and associated state chapters and groups, the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).

These workshops are often done in partnership with the Lawrence Hall of Science GEMS program. See our teacher workshops page for dates and locations of upcoming workshops that you could attend.
