The
Science Operation Center at UC Berkeley is where the snapshot packets are cut into CD-rom format and posted on
the FAST website. The web site was created to provide the science team quick access to information products and
to provide the scientific community access to science data and general information on the mission.
The CD writer here has robotics that hold up to 75 blank CD's; eight copies of
each packet recieved are written for distribution to researchers and scientific databases.
Each data packet is archived in the SOC according to time and data type in jukeboxes
which can hold up to 240 CDs for scientists to access.
