Workshops for Educators

The Center for Science Education at the Space Science Laboratory (CSE@SSL), on the campus of UC Berkeley, conducts free space science education workshops for educators throughout the year.

We have a full menu of professional development opportunities, ranging from short workshops at professional conferences, to 2-day events that offer graduate credits for continuing education from Cal State , East Bay . We plan one-day workshops to coincide with training workshops put on by UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS) Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) project. Participants in the GEMS training are invited to attend our additional workshop free of charge where we present GEMS guides developed in cooperation with NASA, as well as classroom materials developed by CSE (including SEGway). Other interested educators are also welcomed to these one-day workshops. We also offer a series of 2-hour, weekend workshops that go into more depth on various topics or lessons.

Please, join us for one of our free workshops hosted at the Space Sciences Laboratory or at local, regional, or national professional conferences.

PLEASE TAKE OUR SURVEY!

We are trying to determine what type of products are most useful to teachers for our next "printing" of our Exploring Magnetism teacher guides. Do teachers prefer printed booklets, CD-Roms, or the internet for teacher guides? Does the cost matter? You can help us find out! Please take the very quick survey (6 questions in total): http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=671391810708.

We really appreciate your input!

Thank you.
