Jan 1, 2009: SUNSPOT SURGE: 2009 ended with a flurry of sunspots – the Sun is looking more active again! The month of December has had more days when the Sun had spots on it than any previous month of the year by a lot! This may be the end to the longest solar minimum in nearly a century, but we’ll have to keep watching the Sun to determine that.
