The
Solar Guide from Radio Netherlands:
Advice on how the Sun affects radio wave propagation and how to find information
about it. If you have been curious about how shortwave broadcasts can be heard
across the world, this site has a nice tutorial on radio wave propagation. |
The
INSPIRE Project:
INSPIRE is an acronym for "Interactive NASA Space Physics Ionosphere Radio Experiments".
Since 1990, The INSPIRE Project has been involved in the investigation of very
low frequency (VLF) radio signals in the Earth's magnetosphere. These signals
are both made by people, such as LORAN navigation system transmissions, and naturally
occurring, most of which originate from lightning. INSPIRE has developed a VLF
radio receiver kit that can be built by students with some supervision. INSPIRE
also publishes The INSPIRE Journal two times per year (November and April). The
Journal contains articles on VLF radio research and related topics and includes
schedules of opportunities for data recording. |
Radio
Jove - Planetary Radio Astronomy for Schools:
Radio Jove is an educational project to involve secondary school students in collecting and analyzing observations of the natural radio emissions of the planet Jupiter and the Sun. Participating students get direct experience in gathering and working with space science data. The project is a joint effort of NASA's Space Science Data Operations Office, the University of Florida Astronomy Department, the Florida Space Grant Consortium, high school teachers, and volunteers.
