Sun-Earth Connection (Auroras and Space Weather) Aurora 2000 web site presented by the Exploratorium:
This site is your guide to the northern and southern lights. Includes auroral news and forecasts and frequently asked questions about the auroras. Also has an extensive photography and image section and news about NASA missions studying the auroras.
North American Sundial Society:
Has extensive links to many sites featuring Sundials and Sundial projects.
Views of the Solar System:
Good source for images of the Sun and solar system objects. Contains useful tables about the planets.
Auroral Activity Maps:
Maps are extrapolated from observations of the Polarorbiting Operational Environmental Satellite (POES). Has maps of auroral activity for both the northern and southern hemispheres.
Real Time View of the Auroral Oval:
The view is inferred from data from the Canadian CANOPUS magnetometer array.
Space Environment Center:
The Education and Public Outreach section has a nice set of short topic papers in PDF format suitable for class use on topics such as space weather, the ionosphere, and the solar maximum.
Survey of Resources at Rice Space Weather Resources:
Good reference site with extensive links to space weather forecasts, space physics observatories and research centers, and to amateur organizations. Also has a good set of educational links.
Solar Max 2000 presented by the Exploratorium:
A terrific resource for understanding the solar maximum. Should we be concerned? Find out at this web site. The site has current solar images and events.

Sunspots and the Solar Cycle:
This NASA site has a wealth of information on Sunspots and the solar cycle as well as how the Sun works. It covers all of the basic areas of research about the Sun.
Solar images at Solar Data Analysis center (SDAC) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center:
A large number of fascinating solar images area seen at this site. Some are taken by satellite and others from ground-based telescopes.
