Although the Center for Science Education at the Space Sciences Laboratory is based at the University of California, Berkeley, we don’t receive any funding from the University. Instead, we’re fueled by the generous and visionary support of people like you - people who believe in our mission to foster a more scientifically literate society, as we seek to connect with people's sense of wonder and facilitate making personal ties to science and the learning process.
Over the past twenty years, we have established robust partnerships founded on respect and trust, built programs that have inspired the public to engage in earth and space science topics, demonstrated to girls that physics and space science offer viable and fulfilling career options, fostered science and engineering learning communities across the nation, supported teachers in building their knowledge of scientific practices, trained master teachers, motivated teens in after-school art and science projects, seeded scientist-artist collaborations, created relevant STEM resources and lessons for teachers, built a digital library for all NASA peer-reviewed K-12 and undergrad lessons, supported scientists in sharing their work, facilitated authentic collaborations between science centers and Native American educators and communities -- and so much more!
