Astronomy 10: Constellation Report
Constellation Report
Worth 10 points -- Due Friday, June 2nd -- May not be repeated
For this project you will choose a constellation from the list of those recognized by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) on pages 547-548 of your text and research it. Please write up a 3-4 page (typed and double-spaced) report on your constellation. In the report you should do the following:
- Give the location of the constellation (time of year it's visible and how to find it).
- Give some factual physical information about the stars that make up the constellation.
- Describe what astronomical objects of interest are found in the constellation.
- Tell at least one western myth associated with the constellation and one non-western myth.
- Using the same group of stars make up your own constellation and myth.
By all means, include pictures and whatever else suits your fancy for illustration. But such materials are not included in the tally of 3-4 pages of text. Include a bibliography with at least 3 sources, and one must be a printed media.
