M96
(NGC 3368), is classified as a type "Sa"
spiral galaxy. M96 is the brightest member of the Leo I group of galaxies.
Its distance was determined to be about 38 million light years by Nial
R. Tanvir with the Hubble Space Telescope by observing Cepheid variable
stars.
