The SEARCH COIL AC MAGNETOMETER measures the magnetic field component of any type of wave emission, like radio noise, generated in the space plasma contained in the auroral region. This instrument positioned at the end of a 2 m boom provides AC magnetic field data over the frequency range of 10 to 2,500 Hz on two axes, while the third axis range extends to 500,000 Hz.
