The RF ANTENNA uses radio frequency waves to upload commands and download stored data information to the receiving antennas on Earth at Poker Flats (Alaska), Wallops Island (Virginia), Madrid (Spain), or other NASA receiving stations. The antenna uses an S-band transmitter, which relays radio signals in the 2 Gigahertz frequency range.
